Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to get a TouchTunes jukebox?

If your business* qualifies for TouchTunes, you can get a jukebox at no cost to you.

How is this possible? Jukeboxes are owned and serviced by a local amusement Operator. TouchTunes partners with authorized amusement Operators throughout the US and Canada. They will install the TouchTunes jukebox at no upfront cost to your business.

Please note that the jukebox model you receive may be influenced by the operator’s available inventory.

*TouchTunes is available for bars, breweries, restaurant, and other entertainment venues.

TouchTunes is not available for purchase, nor is TouchTunes available for home or personal use.

How do I get a jukebox installed in my venue?

Hassle-free installation lets you focus on running your business. Authorized, local Operators take care of installation and service for you.

Our wall mounted jukeboxes require a minimal amount of space. There are only 3 requirements for the jukebox to be installed properly:

  1. internet connection
  2. power outlet
  3. place to display the jukebox.

Your local Operator will partner with you to ensure a successful installation.

Does the TouchTunes system allow for multiple volume zones?

Yes. You can adjust the volume based on context and space. Our jukeboxes all have 2 built-in amplifiers covering 4 zones. If needed, additional amplifiers can give you the ability to have different volumes for up to 6 different zones.

Your Operator can easily set up and establish different zones in your business so that you can control the volume in different settings.

Do I need a speaker system for the jukebox to play music?

Yes. You can talk to your local Operator to find out if they can wire into an existing sound system, or your Operator may help with sound offerings. Additional fees may apply.

Can I buy or lease the jukebox myself instead of going through an Operator?

We work exclusively through local amusement operators for all TouchTunes locations. This ensures little to no downtime in case of an issue that needs to be addressed. Your local operator will also have access to our parts store in case there is a hardware issue.

Partnering with a TouchTunes Operator decreases the burden (and costs) for your business.

Due to music licensing, TouchTunes is available for bars, breweries, restaurants, and other entertainment venues; not for home or personal use.

Do I have to pay music licensing fees with TouchTunes?

All songs played from the jukebox are fully licensed. With a few exceptions for certain business activities.

TouchTunes products are licensed with record labels and music publishers, as well as performing rights organizations (PROs), including ASCAP, GMR SESAC, and BMI in the United States.

The only exceptions are venues that leverage music as a core part of their business model. These venues must obtain a separate license directly with PROs to “perform” music publicly in their venue, regardless of the source. Examples of these business models include venues that charge admission to enter (including cover charges) and venues that use music directly in accompaniment with another paid service (such as adult dancing, karaoke, or “disco bowling” nights.)

Additionally, our licenses will not cover music played from a source other than our jukebox. The most requested examples of this are venues that also allow live music (including DJs), and when staff use their phone to play music from personal streaming accounts, such as Spotify or Apple Music.

Remember: even if you have acquired music legally, playing music publicly in a business establishment requires a proper commercial license with each PRO.

Can I filter the music on my TouchTunes jukebox?

Yes. We offer multiple options to guide your customers into picking the right songs for your venue. The Operator who partners with you for installation will be able to help you.

Featured Music
We allow you to select what kind of music should be featured on your jukebox. Featured music is a great way to communicate with people what type of music is encouraged.

Lyric Filters
With lyric filters, you can make sure lyrics are appropriate for your customers. Lyric filters can be applied by time of day or day of the week, allowing you to change songs available as your audience may vary throughout the day.

Filter out genres/styles, artists and songs
If there are some types of music, specific artists, or songs you never want to hear in your locations, you can ask your Operator to block it for you.

The impact of music filters for your customers
When a song, artist, or genre/style is blocked from the jukebox, they will automatically disappear from all playlists and recommended music for users. Users will still be able to search for specific songs or artists, but they will not be able to select it. If the user has a filtered-out song in their playlists or favorites, they will not be able to select it.

Does TouchTunes offer background music that allows for continuous music to be played?

Yes. Additional fees may apply. Background music automatically starts when the song queue is empty. Music channels can be scheduled to create different vibes throughout the day. Music channels can be changed at any time with your jukebox remote.

Ask your Operator for more info.
